Despite calls to Americans for unity, President Joe Biden has decided to take matters into his own hands, signing a record 40 executive orders during his first week. The total is triple the number signed by the three previous presidents in their first week COMBINED.
In contrast, President Trump signed four executive orders during his first week in office. Who is the President in need of learning to play well with others?
This is the same Joe Biden who said during his presidential campaign, “You can’t legislate by executive order unless you’re a dictator. We’re a democracy. We need consensus.” Are you kidding me?
But a brief look at Biden’s executive actions reveals he is not joking around. Targeting rollbacks of key Trump accomplishments, Biden’s first week of his dictatorship has included stopping construction of the border wall, ending construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, and rejoining the Paris Climate Accords. Fun, fun!
On day two, Biden decided anyone who still has a job left after these actions should be subject to additional draconian rules to make your workplace an even harder place to navigate while you try to homeschool your kids amid the pandemic. Stuff like wearing a mask, social distancing, and other safety protocols to add a few more rules to the Draconian Democrat controls expanding across America.
Day three, you’ll likely need economic help by this point, so Biden decided to sign an act to extend the SNAP food allotment by 15 percent. In other words, let the government take your job (and your dignity) and then give you some free food benefits through big government programs.
And don’t forget, you’ll be competing for jobs in a decimated market in competition with all the people Biden refuses to deport. In a pandemic. Wearing a mask. With your kids still at home. And many businesses still shut down.
Not sure how this is supposed to work, but maybe that’s the point. If everything is in chaos, then Biden and his Democrat demagogues can serve as the saviors of what they break.
But Americans should smell this trap and tell Pharaoh to let the people go. This nation was built on liberty, not big government. We swat at regulations like flies in the summer sun. After Biden returns his cap to the pen, everyday Americans are fighting to get by with extra hours of work (when available) and cutting back on important expenses, yet press against government limitations at every turn.
What happened to make America great again? Biden’s battle for the soul of the nation increasingly resembles Obama’s hope and change. The words promise healing, but the reality is crushing the nation’s citizens. Americans don’t want to sell their souls for expanded government.
Patriots want liberty, freedom, and a nation that supports a flourishing society. We even want unity, just not the kind Biden is selling. If unity means our President sits at a desk and signs our souls away, we’ll keep fighting for a new day when someone who values America’s citizens can lead the nation to a better future.
