Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi used struggling Americans as a political football by repeatedly pushing a vital stimulus package to the brink. Spiting Republicans and the White House who wanted a clean relief package to put money in working families pockets, Democrats again loaded up a $3.4 trillion aid package with pork spending.
“Nancy Pelosi just pushes it to the edge every single time, and, sadly, she would rather see the demise of our nation than stand with our president,” New Mexico congressional candidate Yvette Herrell reportedly said. “With Pelosi against all of Trump’s administrative policies, against bills that would help the American people, and we just can’t have that.”
President Trump and his administration led talks aimed at a relief-only deal for ailing citizens and businesses that required about $1 trillion. Above that figure, Democrats plan to bail out corporations with resources in hand and shower partisan organizations with cash, much like the first pandemic aid package. For example, Democrats sent $25 million to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which helps raise money for liberal candidates and causes. The Kennedy Center reportedly pivoted and laid off its musicians after receiving the funds.
The GOP and President Trump held their nose while approving the package knowing the welfare of American families was at stake. In this round, negotiations broke down back in August, with Democrats trying to hand taxpayer money over to illegal immigrants and big corporations that support liberal policies.
“Using the working men and women, or at least those who want to be working men and women, as a political football for her own expediency. It’s shameful what’s she’s done,” North Carolina Rep. Ted Budd reportedly said. “Like giving money to illegals, why would you ever want to put something like that in a coronavirus bill? Look, we want to help the American people, but she makes it so toxic that you can’t help regular working men and women on the street.”
Led by Pelosi, House Democrats reduced their corrupt demands to $2.2 trillion and passed another stimulus package still rife with pork spending. Republicans unanimously voted against taxpayers giving money to non-citizens who will not have to pay it back. Biased media platforms such as “Face the Nation” recently gave Pelosi a forum to push left-wing propaganda vilifying fiscally responsible Republicans.
“We tried to get that done in the House, but the Republicans objected,” Pelosi reportedly said.
Although Pelosi and her partisan Democrats have reduced their attempted financial corruption to $2.2 trillion, the White House has gone on the record stating that the president would be willing to sign off on $1.3 trillion. That figure would be the minimum borrowing necessary to restore the Paycheck Protection Program, fund another $1,200 stimulus check to citizens, and reinstate the additional $600 weekly unemployment benefit. President Trump already disbursed Federal Emergency Management Agency funds at his discretion to support the previous $300 weekly benefit without Congress. States had the option of kicking in an additional $100 per week.
Efforts by the president to put money in people’s pockets and the GOP’s hardline against doling out cash to special interest and illegal immigrants highlights the stark differences between the two parties heading into the November election.
