Democrat press briefings, Sunday interviews and New York Times op-eds have ignored the elephant in the room. That elephant is not a Republican; it is a serious charge of sexual assault by a young woman who served on Joe Biden’s senate staff back in 1993.
According to Tara Reade, Joe Biden was channeling Harvey Weinstein. Tara says that Joe pinned her against the wall, reached inside her clothing and penetrated her with his fingers. All the while he was whispering sweet nothings like, “Come on man. They said you liked me.”
Why does that sound exactly like him?
The Biden campaign issued this tepid statement when news first got out, “Women have a right to tell their story, and reporters have an obligation to rigorously vet those claims. We encourage them to do so, because these accusations are false.”
So were the accusations against Justice Kavanaugh. The press went an extra thousand miles to vet false charges against a good man. Every one of them led down a blind alley littered with totally uncorroborated garbage. The main complainant, Christine Blasey-Ford, could remember no significant details, and no one she knew could back her story.
Such is not the case with Joe’s well-known past history of touching, kissing, smelling women’s hair and the creepy habit of massaging their shoulders while standing behind them. The liberal media never reported on this story with as much veracity as they did the Kavanaugh allegations.
This whole episode almost faded completely from the airwaves, except someone found an old tape of Tara Reade’s mother calling Larry King on the air in 1993.
The transcript of the call: “Yes, hello. I’m wondering what a staffer would do besides go to the press in Washington? My daughter has just left there after working for a prominent senator, and could not get through with her problems at all, and the only thing she could have done was go to the press, and she chose not to do it out of respect for him.”
Democrat pundits were hoping the woman was talking about Ted Kennedy. She wasn’t. Tara Reade identified the caller as her late mother.
Interestingly enough (but not surprising) the liberal media is already trying to cover up this evidence. Google took the Larry King episode down so people can’t watch it. They can’t independently verify she made this call or hear her ask King what to do to help her daughter.
This cover up smells so bad that even Democrat progressives and supporters of the #MeToo movement are becoming angry. Already feeling disenfranchised when Bernie Sanders was (again) pushed aside, many of Sanders’ supporters are calling on Biden to withdraw.
Democrat leaders and their apologetic press allies, however, are ignoring the stench. They don’t want to talk about it. Of course, nobody believes the story, so let’s move on and talk about what a bad thing President Trump did to our economy by ignoring the coronavirus threat.
In the final analysis, Joe Biden will likely get a pass and avoid being rolled by the PC and angry feminist juggernaut driven by Ocasio-Cortez. The cost may be his agreeing to step aside and allowing Bernie to carry the torch that will burn down the Democrat Party.
Or, Biden will weather the storm and become an even weaker candidate, assuring a second term for President Trump. Some, however, are hoping that Tara Reade’s story will convince Andrew Cuomo to save the party and run as a more reasonable alternative to both.
Either way, the country will owe Tara Reade a debt of gratitude for once again exposing the Democrats–in the words of that disgraced misogynist Senator Al Franken–as the party of lies and the lying liars who tell them.
