Democrats hate church. They hate religion. They make some exceptions for Islam, and there are two reasons for that. First, Islam doesn’t teach the kind of values that lead to economic and social independents. Islamic states very much resemble the autocracies that the Democrats deeply love. More importantly, they view Islam as a common ally against the teachings of Christianity and Judaism.
This argument has been made by plenty of people over the years. It has always been dismissed as hyperbolic and over the top. That dismissal just lost all credibility. In one of the most recent public displays of Democratic leadership, presidential contenders made it clear that they want to close churches in this country.
Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke is making a career out of saying the things Democrats aren’t supposed to say. He did it with guns (on endless repeat), and now, he’s doing it with churches. In an LGBTQ town hall (yes, this was actually a thing), a bunch of activists got together to shout down the candidates who actually support their cause. It was the steaming pile of manure you would expect.
In the midst of all of it, O’Rourke explained something important. As president, he would take away tax exemption from any church that discriminates against the LGBTQ community. In other words, he’ll destroy protections for religions that happen to view homosexuality as a sin. The same goes for any church that views transgenderism as a mental disorder. It’s a complete violation of religious freedom.
Simply denying tax exemption already sounds like an assault on religious freedom, but this is actually way worse. Once an organization loses tax exemption, they also lose regulatory protections. You have to be tax exempt to be excluded from a large number of affirmative action and anti-discriminatory oversight.
O’Rourke’s idea is pretty clear. The first step to allowing the government to literally shut down a church is to first change their IRS filing. Once protections are gone, the government has the authority to shut down any business that discriminates against any protected group. Without a single word of legislation, O’Rourke could give the presidency unilateral power over which churches stay open and which are closed forever.
If you’ve never read anything by Marx or Lenin, this is one of the key steps to a socialist revolution. The state has to supplant the church, or the revolution won’t last.
Here’s the big picture. O’Rourke’s end game is to unilaterally assault churches that don’t get in line. He has now officially gone after the first two Amendments in the constitution.
When we say that O’Rourke wants to be the dictator of the United States, it isn’t hyperbole. It’s his platform. He is regularly espousing dictatorial and autocratic views. He is the living embodiment of why we have a 2nd Amendment.
More than anything else, he is completely unremarkable. The only difference between O’Rourke and the rest of the Democrats is that he was dumb enough to say these things out loud.
