Despite losing the 2016 presidential election, former first lady Hillary Clinton won’t go away. In fact, every time she takes the microphone, some liberals likely panic she’s going to announce a third bid for the White House.
According to Fox News, some recent “remarks she delivered in Houston may have sounded like a campaign speech to some listeners.” During her speech, the former Secretary of State lashed out at President Donald J. Trump accusing him of tweeting an allegedly doctored video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi because he was “running scared.”
Clinton quipped, “Just look at what’s happened in the last 24 hours. The president and his cronies have been running around spreading a doctored video of Nancy Pelosi. Now, it is sexist trash. But it is also a sign that Trump is running scared.”
Reportedly, several manipulated video clips of Pelosi were shared over the internet. The clips purportedly portrayed the House Speaker as drunk. According to Fox News, “A three-minute clip of Pelosi speaking with the Center for American Progress from Wednesday was uploaded on Facebook by a group called ‘Politics WatchDog’ was viewed over 1.8 million times with nearly 40,000 shares. The video shows her frequently slurring her words and her voice sounding garbled.”
Copies of the clips had also been circulated on YouTube and Twitter. YouTube had removed the clips. A Washington Post report claimed that experts felt the original video was slowed down to only 75 percent of its initial speed. Pelosi’s pitch was also believed to have been altered to make her appear intoxicated.
According to Fox News, “Computer science and digital forensics expert Berkeley Hany Farid said there was ‘no question’ the video had been tampered with.” Farid informed the Washington Post, “It is striking that such a simple manipulation can be so effective and believable to some.”
The former first lady delivered her comments at a meeting of the Harris County Democratic Party. Fox News reported that “Her speech seemed aimed at motivating Houston-area Democrats to get out the vote for the party’s candidates in 2020.”
Clinton stated, “We have to remind Americans we are the party that can deliver for them. But we also are the party that will stand up and protect the Constitution and address what is a very real constitutional crisis that this president has put us in.”
Earlier in May, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, Democrat – New York, proclaimed America was in a “constitutional crisis.” Nadler made his remarks after Attorney General William Barr refused to testify before Nadler’s panel after receiving a subpoena.
According to Fox News, “Nadler claimed the Trump administration was ‘stonewalling’ efforts by congressional Democrats to continue probes into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, even though Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on the investigation he led for two years claimed no evidence of collusion existed.”
A day after Nadler’s comments, Pelosi remarked that she agreed with the House Judiciary Committee Chairman that the nation was indeed in a constitutional crisis.
In classic Stacy Abrams fashion, Clinton hinted earlier this month that the 2016 presidential election was stolen from her. Abrams refused to concede the Georgia gubernatorial race after Governor Brian Kemp defeated her in 2018. At an event in Los Angeles, the former first lady stated, “You can run the best campaign, you can even become the nominee, and you can have the election stolen from you.”
The Daily Caller reported that while Clinton has repeatedly implied she unfairly lost her last bid to become president, she lambasted Trump for remarking the election was rigged against him. In October of 2016, the former Secretary of State commented, “Every time Donald thinks things are not going in his direction, he claims whatever it is rigged against him. That is not the way our democracy works. We’ve been around for 240 years. We’ve had free and fair elections. We’ve accepted the outcomes when we may not have liked them. He is a denigrating, he’s talking down our democracy and I, for one, am appalled.”
Recently, the Clintons were featured on the cover of left-leaning Newsweek magazine. While this certainly wasn’t shocking in itself, the headline accompanying a picture of the twosome hugging each other was. The headline read, “Clintons in Exile: What’s it like when you’re no longer the world’s most powerful couple?”
Since even the biased liberal media has seemingly moved on from the Clintons, maybe it’s time for them to leave the spotlight and the country to more capable hands.
