High-ranking FBI insiders have confirmed that Fusion GPS, the firm commissioned by the Democratic National Party to spread rumors of Trump/ Russia collusion, did more than dig up the now-discredited Steele dossier. The firm working for Hillary Clinton paid several mainstream media reporters to dig up dirt on Donald Trump.
According to one insider: “Fusion GPS was on the payroll of the media and in turn had members of the media on its payroll.”
It is now clear that Fusion GPS used money paid to it by the Hillary Clinton campaign to pay off reporters from the Big Media. This is according to federal sources who have traced dozens of transactions between media members and organizations and TD Bank.
One federal law enforcement official said: “There are dozens of payments from the media flowing into their (Fusion GPS’) accounts.” According to that source a single company wired funds to Fusion over a dozen times.
Records show the payments were made between September 2015 and September 2017.
What was once unimaginable became commonplace during Trump’s run for office. Fusion GPS was paying media sources for political dirt on a presidential candidate and worse yet those same sources were paying Fusion to find bogus info on candidate Trump.
Now the question is, was BuzzFeed and CNN – the only media sources to publish the Steele dossier – on that same list of payoffs? Who else was on that payroll? Why haven’t the American people heard anything about this from Big Media?
Over three months ago a Republican member of House Judiciary Committee said the co-founder of Fusion GPS, Glenn Simpson was in “real legal jeopardy” because of “inconsistent testimony” he had given about the infamous Steele dossier to Congress.
It was Simpson who investigated the Trump campaign at the request of the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Party. When faced with certain questions from the House Judiciary and House Oversight & Government Committee, Simpson plead the Fifth.
Republican Representative John Ratcliffe of Texas told Fox News that the reason Simpson refused to testify under oath was that “he never met with Bruce Ohr or discussed with Bruce Ohr the Steele dossier before the October FISA application in 2016 or the 2016 presidential election.” That would have been in “direct contradiction” to what Ohr had testified to.
There can be no doubt the world would have not known about the real collusion – between the press and Fusion GPS – had Democrats been in control of the House then as they are now.
Court filings released by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence in 2017 showed evidence of a pay-to-publish scandal that many predicted would rattle the Washington press corps.
Throughout 2016 Fusion GPS was engaged in a media campaign that opposed the Global Magnitsky Act, a law that targeted human rights abuses around the globe. That act extended US sanctions against Russian officials and others associated with the Russian government. Those sanctions were because of the death of Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky.
The U.S. District Court for DC filings showed that Fusion GPS paid at least three journalists who reported on Russia issues relevant to [the committee’s] investigation.”
The trail of media involvement began when The Wall Street Journal’s traditionally right-wing editorial page and left-leaning news desk broke out in civil war.
Former Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reporter tweeted: “I don’t know a single WSJ alum who’s not agog at where that edit page is heading” in reaction to a Journal editorial calling for the firing of Robert Mueller. “WSJ edit page has gone full bats–t, now hosting an op-ed suggesting Trump pardon everyone, including himself,” tweeted former high-ranking Wall Street Journal editor Bill Grueskin.
When everything shook out, several former Journal reporters pushed the Russiagate story fueled by Fusion GPS. The Federalist reported at that time that “several other former Journal hands employed throughout the Washington DC press corps to cover the Russiagate beat” has teamed with teamed with Fusion.
WSJ alum, Carol Lee of NBC News, worked on several Russiagate stories with Ken Dilanian, a well-known purveyor of Fusion GPS talking points.
Two years later, reliable FBI insiders verified that the mainstream media is in the pocket of the Washington elite. They detail a press that is riddled with reporters who conceal the fact that their “anonymous source” has paid them to write and research the stories these sources want put out there, and coordinated campaigns between the press and the very people their supposed to be reporting on to frame political stories and events.
The media sat on this story for well over a year and now that the truth is out there, the real question is what will the American voter do with it?
