Everyday Americans really owe left-wing comedy icons a round of applause. They are real show stoppers. And thanks to the grotesquely unfunny demonstration by Michelle Wolf at the White House Correspondents Dinner last year, comedy is will no longer be part of the festivities.
This is not to say that liberal zealots will stop being utterly revolting. They may. But who will really know given people such as Wolf tanked their careers due to Trump Derangement Syndrome? For those who missed Wolf’s offense remarks, these were among the highlights that even fellow Democrats didn’t chuckle at.
“Mike Pence is very anti-choice. He thinks abortion is murder, which, first of all, don’t knock it till you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it. You know, you’ve got to get that baby out of there.”
“And I’m never really sure what to call Sarah Huckabee Sanders, you know? Is it Sarah Sanders, is it Sarah Huckabee Sanders, is it Cousin Huckabee, is it Auntie Huckabee Sanders? Like, what’s Uncle Tom but for white women who disappoint other white women?”
“You guys have got to stop putting Kellyanne on your shows. All she does is lie. If you don’t give her a platform, she has nowhere to lie.”
“Trump is a racist though. He loves white nationalists, which is a weird term for a Nazi. Calling a Nazi a white nationalist is like calling a pedophile a kid-friend, or Harvey Weinstein a ladies’ man — which isn’t really fair, he also likes plants.”
In all fairness, Wolf did note that the audience was groaning through her revolting assault on decency. And while she was often the only one in the room laughing, there were also boos. Probably not from CNN’s Jim Acosta.
In response to White House Correspondents Association officials ending the revolting outbreak of insults being passed as “humor,” Wolf has been mouthing off again. The former Daily Show personality reportedly tweeted “The @whca are cowards. The media is complicit. And I couldn’t be prouder.”
Given that Wolf assailed even the president’s children during her vile monologue, she appears to be in the minority. The president regarded her targeting White House staff members and his children as “filthy.”
But for Americans tired of the disgusting tones and language that left-wing Hollywood has been calling comedy, you won’t have Wolf to kick around any longer. Actually, you haven’t had her around in a while because Netflix canceled “The Break with Michelle Wolf” shortly after her 10-episode season finished. Although some claimed she was too “polarizing,” it’s probably closer to the truth that most people don’t enjoy feeling nauseous.
Wolf chose a path of hate speech and suffered the low-ratings consequences that lead to unemployment. Many may remember the comedienne who posed with a severed head of the president. Her comedy tour got canceled it has become difficult to recall her once household name. Wasn’t it Kathy something? Who knows.
Much like CNN has chosen to avoid anger management classes and start reporting real news, left-wing zealots continue to lose popularity and ratings. When Americans change the channel or stop buying tickets, those liberal Antifa buddies are not starting GoFundMe pages to pay their comrade’s electric bill.
The White House Correspondents Dinner has featured a comedy portion every year since 2003. The keynote speaker that year was Ray Charles, which must have been a real treat.
This year, the left plans to be far less revolting than featuring Wolf, an SNL star or one of those angry late-night show hosts. Instead, it will be acclaimed historian and author Ron Chernow who will give what amounts to a civics class on the First Amendment and free press.
Chernow is the guy who wrote the Alexander Hamilton biography that morphed into the Broadway play “Hamilton.” Yes, the one where the cast harassed Vice Pres. Mike Pence.
“As we celebrate the importance of a free and independent news media to the health of the republic, I look forward to hearing Ron place this unusual moment in the context of American history,” White House Correspondents’ Association president Olivier Knox reportedly said in a statement.
And yes, it’s likely pushing back on the White House suspending CNN’s Acosta for his revolting behavior. The left may be changing their tune to a less revolting one, but it’s the same tired old tune. Besides, Pres. Trump will likely be a thousand miles away holding a mega-rally where people are having fun.
