Google and Facebook’s war against freedom is ramping up faster than Congress or even the general public realizes. In fact, the dystopian future in which Big Tech hopes to control our lives and even our thoughts may be coming too quickly for lawmakers to even react.
Let’s look at Facebook first. The New York Times recently wrote a report on the “Facebook Deletion Centre” in Germany. Some 1,200 employees go to work in a top secret building every day and night. Their round-the-clock job is to monitor Facebook users and immediately take down any posts which violate Facebook’s idea of what “hate speech” is.
The Deletion Centre also employs four trauma specialists for the employees to talk to in case they are triggered by seeing so much “hate speech” (i.e., conservative speech or basic common sense that violates leftist dogma).
For years, the tech companies have been telling us that they were using algorithms or bots to police speech online. If a conservative commenter found himself blocked, temporarily shut out of his or her account, or otherwise policed in some way, the tech companies have always responded that, “Oh, it was a computer error. Sorry.”
This report on the Facebook Deletion Centre puts the lie to those claims. Facebook employees are actively monitoring the social media giant and nuking anyone who puts up a post that they disagree with. As the New York Times admiringly puts it, “They have the power to decide what is free speech and what is hate speech.”
You might not think that your new video on Glock cleaning tips or your clever Donald Trump memes are free speech, but if you offend a Facebook employee at the Deletion Centre – sorry, you’re nuked.
Who elected Facebook employees to do that? Do we really want people who have to go lie down on a trauma couch and cry to a therapist deciding the difference between free speech and hate speech? The Times claims that Germany’s history of dealing with Nazis makes it the perfect place for this type of speech laboratory to be put into practice. For those who missed history class, Germany did not deal with the Nazis. They were the Nazis and America dealt with them.
Then we have a leaked internal video from Google which outlines that transnational corporation’s long-term goals for everyone. Dubbed “The Selfish Ledger,” the video describes how Google wants to engage in “total data collection” to then use social engineering to modify the behavior of entire populations. Mind control, in other words.
Remember how the bad guy in all the old James Bond movies always had a sinister plan to take over the world? Yeah. That’s Google. Google is the bad guy.
Google even scrubbed all its documents recently to remove its “Don’t Be Evil” motto. Turns out they were ignoring the motto all along and they’re just plain evil.
Instead of using Aristotelean logic in the arena of ideas to settle public debates, Google will just nudge people along and manipulate their thinking until they come to the “right” conclusion about public policy. Be on the lookout for this as you carry out online searches using Google.
If you support the Second Amendment, for example, don’t be surprised if your search results begin returning lots of “reasonable gun control” articles. The idea is apparently to wear you down by making you feel as though you are in the fringe for your beliefs.
What’s even more frightening is that reports last year found that Google was already manipulating people when it comes to voting in elections. Wired magazine reported that within certain demographics, Google was able to “nudge” up to 48 percent of people to vote for certain candidates.
We know that Google carried out experiments in India – but who can say whether this is already being used in America? Perhaps Google didn’t bother in 2016 because they believed that George Soros’ voting machines would take care of the results. Only Google knows and they ain’t talkin’ unless an internal video or memo is leaked to the public.
Google, Facebook and other Big Tech monopolies would have horrified the Founding Fathers. The idea that a private company could determine what is free speech versus hate speech, or even manipulate the thoughts of free people, would have George Washington and Thomas Jefferson rolling over in their graves.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: The time for Congress to regulate and break up Big Tech as an enemy of the American people is now… before it’s too late.
